Kitchen/Dining Room Refurbishment in Portsmouth

Our Portsmouth-based client approached us as they needed a complete refurbishment of their kitchen and dining room. The brief was to update the kitchen and open through into the dining room to give the house a new kitchen and dining area.

Before

The old kitchen was an enclosed space next to the dining room that didn’t offer our client much room or natural light. Opening up the space to create an open-plan kitchen dining room was the answer to giving the space more room and light.

During

We had to break down the wall separating the two rooms and the plumbing had to be capped off and removed to allow us to install new rads. The whole area was given brand-new plastering, spotlights installed in the ceiling, and new flooring installed throughout.

Challenges

The building’s plans showed us that joists were going the opposite way, so we had to reconfigure the timber work with new trimmers to hold the existing first-floor timbers. When presented with challenges on builds, our expert team find solutions on the spot to help deliver projects on time and within budget.

New bi-folding doors

We removed the old patio doors and removed a section of the wall to make room for these lovely bi-folding doors. These new doors take up the entire rear wall of the kitchen dining room, which now fills the space with plenty of natural light – perfect for the summer months too!

After

The new kitchen and dining room gives our client much more room and has given the space a new modern look. We installed new white goods, a handy space for a big American-style with storage, and installed more storage space in the dining area.

The addition of a kitchen island makes cooking and entertaining more enjoyable and doubles up as a handy breakfast bar!

Conclusion

We are thrilled with the outcome of this project and are excited for our clients to enjoy their new kitchen and dining space. If you have a space that needs refurbishment or need a builder in Portsmouth for a larger project, send us a message or give us a call and we would love to help.
